What does it mean to find kind?

To find kind is to prioritize doing good… to act with others in mind; to care for yourself and others; to use your passions for the greater good.

Finding kind will look different for everyone. Below, are tried and true ways to find kind opportunities. ENJOY!

  • An internet search will yield all sorts of opportunities to find kind! You search for volunteering opportunities in your area and specify by specific volunteer area:

    “Volunteering in [town] [hobby]”

  • Joining a kind club for a shortcut to people who also love to do good! Use this list of kind clubs accessible to find the right fit for you.

  • United Way is a national nonprofit with chapters nationally that partners with grass-roots organizations making local impact. Cut through the fluff and find the perfect nonprofit for you by visiting your local United Way’s website. For STL locals, here is our United Way platform.

  • VolunteerMatch.org offers loads of opportunities to find kind for those in the United States. In 2024, the website connected 88 individuals with service opportunities every hour! Whether you’re searching for something in-person, remote, recurring, or single-time, this website can help!

  • For the students out there, your school will have resources and professionals who can help you connect with volunteer opportunities! For students high school and younger, visit your school’s Counseling Office and ask about clubs related to service and community work. For those in college, visit your school’s Office of Student Involvement/Engagement and ask for the same.
